Playable Races!
As I posted in the comments, hitting $40k would trigger the inclusion of 5 playable races. For every $2k over that I will add another race to the book. The first 5 playable races are: boarfolk, leprechaun, ophidian, stormwarden, and tsathar.
boarfolk, leprechaun, ophidian, stormwarden, and tsatharSeveral of you have asked for a preview of the stormwarden so here it is, in all of of its very rough, unrefined, first pass, and untested glory. Keep in mind these will very likely change for the final book, just as the sample creatures we've posted very likely will change.
Stormwarden Traits (WIP WIP WIP WIP WIP - NOT FINAL)
Your stormwarden character has the following racial traits.
Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Age. Stormwardens mature at the same rate as humans and reach the age of majority around the age of 20. They often live to be more than 150 years of age.
Alignment. Reclusive, passive, and attuned to nature, stormwardens tend to neutral alignment. It is not unusual to find a stormwarden that has been touched by the storm (or lightning), and is unpredictable and given to chaotic actions and choices.
Darkvision. You have acute vision that can pierce the darkest storm. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You cannot discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Size. Stormwarden, much like humans, vary widely in height and build, from just over 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Blessing of the Storm. You know the thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast fog cloud as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast call lightning as a 3rd-level spell with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Discharge. You have advantage on saving throws made against effects that deal lightning damage.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and your choice of either Draconic or Giant.
I hope everyone had a fantastic Festivus and was able to air all of their grievances yesterday. But in all seriousness, all of us in the Frog Pond hope you all have a happy holiday if you celebrate or a good day if not. We're looking forward to bringing you loads of exciting content in 2018. Be safe! And remember...St. Orcus is watching you!
(I might have used too many exclamation points in the title of this update...!)

Funded!! A Partial Monster List and New Art!!
– Fri, Dec 22, 2017 at 12:13:03 PM
Hooray!
We funded!!
Thank you everybody!!
This quick update includes an internal list and some new art to help get you excited for the stretch goals.
But first...
I want to make a clarification regarding WHAT you are funding. This is not (and cannot be physically and legally) a Tome of Horrors Complete for Fifth Edition. You are funding a book that is launches a Tome of Horrors series for Fifth Edition which will include selections from the earlier book (especially those that relate to Rappan Athuk, new additions to Tome of Horrors from published Frog God Games material (Like Quests of Doom 4 books and The Blight) as well as about 15-20% never before seen material that is finished or in process of being written. Our earlier book, 5th Edition Foes, will have around 10% of the creatures in this book because we like the art so much!
As it stands we have over 100 pieces of art finished or near finished from a fistful of artists including-
Terry Pavlet (Efreet)
Joshua Stewart (Brine Zombie)
Michael Syrigos (Assigned but unwritten new creature)
Artem Shukaev (Pazuzu)
and Chris McFann (Crypt Thing)
Please tell all your friends and enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday!

Stretch Goal Close, Creature Submissions and Huge Creature List
over 8 years ago
– Tue, Dec 12, 2017 at 07:08:29 PM
Before I start the update I want to remind you of the big charity promotion through Frog God Games. There is a great deal going on with Frog God Games and Kobold Press that has over $375 of Fifth Edition PDFs for $17 or less. A huge chunk of that goes to charity. You can check out the deal at-
This is so close that we went ahead and added the 30k stretch goal to the list below.
New Creature List
The Newest draft of the creature list is here. It includes over 300 creatures with a good guess of their CR (when known) spread. It includes the added creatures from the last stretch goal (and the 30,000 stretch goal as well).
This list includes the placeholders for the new creatures from Anthony Pryor, Lance Hawvermale, Jim Wampler, and the backer submitted creatures (for obvious reasons). It also does not include those that will be in the high-level backer PDF ($95 and Up).
This list is subject to some changes but this is as accurate as we could make it as of today. Big thanks go to Patrick Pilgrim, the 5e Frog, for spending a long couple of days working with me to finalize this list.
Backer Submitted Creatures
During the BackerKit phase, all backers at the $50 and above level will have the option to submit a brief description and concept for a custom creature to be designed, developed, illustrated in full color by one of our amazing artists, playtested on the bi-weekly Frog God Games live stream, and included in Tome of Horrors. Additionally, those backers who have a submission selected will have the opportunity to purchase (at cost) the original art for that creature.
The Process in Backerkit will be
Choose a 5E creature type (available options will be provided).
In 3-5 sentences, describe your creature idea, including some possible abilities.
Select an estimated CR (must be 10 or below).
Describe in 2 sentences how you would use this creature in your game.
NOTE: We reserve the right to reject any creature submission. If the creature cannot be used in a public convention game, where the audience could be children up through older gamers, then it isn't an appropriate submission for this endeavor. The submission cannot violate copyright belonging to anyone else, contain explicit sexual content, or be otherwise potentially controversial. All creatures become the property of Frog Gog Games (Author credit for the creatures will be given in the book using full legal author name).
Some New Art to Enjoy
Tunnel Worm
Wight Variant
Bone Crawler
Spitting Sea Serpent
Thank you everyone!
